About Us...
Living Free was founded by Emily Jo Beard in 1980 as a no-kill animal sanctuary that is supported by public donations, contributions and operates with the following objectives; rescue Cats and Dogs facing imminent shelter euthanasia or other life crisis situations; provide veterinary care to rescued Cats and Dogs, included but not limited to spaying and neutering; rehabilitate, train and prepare Cats and Dogs for adoption into appropriate homes; educate the community on proper care of domestic animals and the importance of population control; provide animals for community outreach programs in schools and convalescent homes; qualify potential adopters, make recommendations and assist with selection of an appropriate animal, and place selected animals in their new homes.
